SoftstartBTI is a Seda-funded Business and Technology Incubator based in Midrand. It is also the host of the quarterly Business Plan Competition, that focuses on assisting at least one entrepreneur in turning his/her dream into a reality by means of a R150 000 prize consisting of cash and services.
Alan Flemming's winning business idea can not be revealed at this time, although it is "one of the smartest business ideas we've seen in a long time" - a statement by Matshepo Msibi, Project & Strategic Alliance Manager, SoftstartBTI.
The prize was presented to Mr Flemming by Mr Leon Lourens, CEO of SoftstartBTI. "We enjoy seeing this kind of enthusiasm when it comes to new business ideas. SoftstartBTI will support Alan with coaching and mentoring services and we welcome Alan to the world of incubation."
Alan has been an entrepreneur for the past 27 years and has had many intriguing business ideas; he received the competition details from a friend and decided to give it a try. Today, he is the winner of a competition that is targeted at entrepreneurs who need funding to turn their dreams into reality.
