Bynx, a global provider of Oracle-based commercial software applications, has introduced a service offering that extends its recently introduced Fleet Management System (FMS) to the hosted environment market, meeting the requirement for the effective management of fleet operations while reducing costs.
FMS covers all areas of costing for effective fleet management including fleet master, third-party funding, sales prospecting, contract management, vehicle procurement, driver management, licence management, tyre management, fuel management, fine management, incident management, disposal management, fleet workshops and quotation management. These fleet management modules are integrated into the financial software suite of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash book, fixed assets, inventory management, purchase orders and sales orders. The solution can also be interfaced with other ERP solutions.
The company says its partnership with Oracle is a key feature of this offering.
Giovanni Mottalini, sales manager at Bynx, says this move opens up the sophistication of Bynx`s integrated fleet cost monitoring and operational management system to fleet operators managing smaller fleets, where CAPEX is typically a huge stumbling block in the procurement of an essential system.
Bev Scott, ISV channel manager for Oracle South Africa, says: "Oracle`s working relationship with Bynx, via our independent software vendor channel, has been mutually beneficial: Oracle advising of the future direction and access availability of its technology and applications services; and, Bynx being in a qualified position to develop and implement fast-track methods for the roll-out of new technology platforms and applications that provide business benefit to its customers."
The company currently uses the Oracle9i Database, Oracle9i Application Server and Internet Developer Suite for its deployments. It has also developed specific BI services using Oracle Portal for its multiple international client sites.
"Our success is a testament to the efficacy of Oracle-based products which provide industry-specific services with solid integration into back-office functions," Mottalini concludes.
