Bytes Document Solutions, Xerox distributor to 26 African countries, has appointed Linxia to distribute its range of Xerox multifunction devices (MFDs) and printers in the Republic of Mauritius and surrounding Indian Ocean islands.
The agreement is an extension of an existing partnership since Harel Mallac Group, which established Linxia as its specialist channel business, has represented Xerox equipment in the region for more than 50 years.
“We have extended our partnership to Linxia's 300 channel partners, and we are supporting them out of South Africa, with a regional Xerox reseller programme,” says Olivier Merven, regional manager for Africa in the Xerox division at Bytes Document Solutions.
“We have restructured our operation in view of our expansion, and now have a separate identity for our distribution channel,” says Alain Ah Sue, MD of Linxia.
Several hundred A4 black and white and colour MFDs and printers have already been shipped for sale.
“Linxia has quickly established itself as the pre-eminent value-added distributor in the region, because it has built a solid reputation on ensuring efficient logistics and stock availability, offers first-line telephonic support, and maintains two workshops for maintenance and repairs,” says Merven. “That infrastructure is a key factor in the success of Xerox in the region, since Mauritius is increasingly serving as a hub for the Indian Ocean islands.”
“Xerox's range of multifunction devices in colour and black and white are an extremely attractive solution for businesses in the region, due to the flexibility in options of pricing, print speeds and volumes,” says Ah Sue. “With the backing of Bytes Document Solutions, its extensive distributor and reseller support programmes and Xerox, we can ensure consistent and reliable supply and support at competitive pricing.”
The channel partner programme is based on extensive local research into the needs of resellers in Africa and the Indian Ocean islands, and presents them with tailored packages to meet their individual capabilities and growth opportunities. They can expect a range of traditional support activities and materials, but also some new, technologically advanced, information-driven mechanisms for assisting their sales processes.
Xerox will conduct workshops with resellers in the region, beginning with product managers from South Africa divulging the latest MFD and printer trends and technological developments.
Xerox's range of MFDs are intelligent, automated solutions for small and large workgroups, and help to improve office workflow.
Bytes Document Solutions is a division in Bytes Technology Group, wholly owned by JSE-listed Altron.
