Bytes Managed Solutions celebrates top performers

Bytes Managed Solutions celebrated the launch of its new financial year with a Kick Off and Awards, dinner and dance ceremony for employees held at the iconic Turbine Hall in Newtown in March.

With the theme for the event being "Game Changers", the Bytes MS Kick Off focused on the objectives of the new financial year, reporting back on the prior year's results and rewarding Bytes Managed Solutions employees for their hard work and excellent achievements for the financial year ending February 2014.

The stylish occasion also gave the company's exco and senior management team the opportunity to celebrate the results with the approximate 250 attendees.

Guests were welcomed to the Kick Off by Deirdre Le Hanie, MD of Bytes Managed Solutions. The opening address was delivered by Rob Abraham, CEO of the Bytes Technology Group. This was followed by a video address from Craig Venter, Group Executive: Altron TMT / Chief Executive Officer: Altech. Both the messages from Rob Abraham and Craig Venter were in its own right highlights of the event and greatly appreciated and inspirational for all the Bytes MS attendees. The Bytes MS Executive team reported on the year under review and how the organisation performed against its 2013/2014 theme of "Greatness Accelerated" underpinned by the theme of "Super Hero's" in support of the anticipated business activities. This was indeed a significant year with growth resulting in the staff compliment increasing from 1 128 to 1 600 over the year. The main focus of the evening, being the Business Excellence Awards ceremony, which celebrated Bytes Managed Solutions' top performing employees.

"Our Bytes MS slogan 'Fit for the Future' has ensured we remain focused on sustainable long term growth for all stakeholders of our organisation," says Le Hanie. "We place strong emphasis on employee development and recognition across all levels of the organisation. We view our people as the most important contributors of our business and our success. Our annual awards recognise the stars of the organisation and are testimony to the success of our ongoing continuous improvement and development programmes which have been spearheaded by our management and HR department. We invest in our staff every step of the way, and we reward results and excellence as they grow in their respective roles."

The awards are based on a nomination process by peers. Staff from all disciplines within the organisation can be nominated against the business criteria provided they have been employed for the year under review. There are a number of categories of awards such as: team nominations, financial awards, weekends away, and an international trip. "The beauty of the peer nomination system is that anyone from a clerk to a senior employee can win top-level awards," says Le Hanie.

This year, due to the significant growth experienced in the organisation, an additional weekend category was included to acknowledge key contributors within the organisation.

"The magnitude of the growth was enormous," adds Le Hanie. "Our award winners went the extra mile to ensure that our clients experienced excellence in the engagement and service delivery processes and with the industry solutions successfully converted into tangible results."

Le Hanie noted that the trips allow for award winners across all levels in the organisation to interact and socialise, paving the way for successful working relationships and collaboration into the future. Another great benefit of these excursions is that a nominated member of exco joins the trip and therefore has further opportunity to engage with employees.

"These recognitions are a great incentive and motivate staff to excel and to deliver a high standard of services to our customers," says Le Hanie.

The Kick Off event is presented to all employees around the country through national roadshows which provided the opportunity for everyone to be part of the celebrations.
