Bytes Technology Networks (BTN), a division of Bytes Technology Group Limited, a member of the Altron Group, has been appointed Glenrand MIB Limited`s Microsoft licensing consultant to license and manage existing desktops, as well as new additions and remote users.
Glenrand MIB`s Divisional Financial Director - Short Term Broking, Rob Ansell, said: "The group operated a Microsoft desktop strategy for many years, which resulted in numerous individual and bulk licensing arrangements. These had, subsequently, become a problem to track and maintain both from a version control and renewal perspective. Microsoft Enterprise agreement was, therefore, seen as the optimum solution to the group`s licensing needs in that it facilitated:
Driving standardisation across the group;
Building a flexible infrastructure to match changing business needs;
Compliance with legal and licensing requirements;
Simplification of licence administration; and
Providing the most cost-effective solution by focusing the business relationship with Microsoft and harnessing the group`s bulk purchasing power.
"While a number of Microsoft Enterprise Service providers were considered, BTN was selected for its prompt, thorough and effective responses throughout the quoting period. This high level of service and attention to detail persisted throughout the conversion and implementation process, and is still a commendable feature of our relationship."
BTN`s General Manager: Microsoft Client Computing, Nick Perkins, said: "BTN, an accredited Microsoft Large Account Reseller (LAR), assessed Glenrand MIB`s requirement, and was able to supply the most beneficial solution through our team of Microsoft licensing consultants and specialists. This is a licensing solution in the form of a Microsoft Enterprise Agreement which covers the desktop products used by Glenrand MIB over a three-year period."
Microsoft`s Partner Sales Manager, Mncedisi Mayekiso, added: "BTN has professionally, effectively and successfully managed and implemented Microsoft licensing and consultancy in line with Microsoft`s LAR requirements, thereby ensuring that BTN`s customers receive the best option and managed services to enhance its own business offerings."
Perkins concluded that BTN`s specialist national licensing division offers full business licence management proposals at all levels, including software asset management tools and services on a site, national and global basis.
