C Spire offers iPhone 4S

The carrier says it will begin selling the coveted iPhone 4S in the coming weeks, beating out national player T-Mobile USA. A C Spire spokesman would not divulge pricing, availability or which limb CEO Hu Meena boxed and sent to Cupertino in exchange for the device, The Wall Street Journal says.

Apple confirmed that C Spire will soon be offering the iPhone, but did not give other details.

Last month, T-Mobile said that while it would “like to add” the iPhone to its line-up, it was still seeking an arrangement with Apple. “We are interested in offering all of our customers a no-compromise iPhone experience on our network,” T-Mobile said on its Web site.

Sprint Nextel began selling Apple's phone last week. AT&T and Verizon Wireless were already selling it, Bloomberg BusinessWeek notes.

C Spire was called Cellular South until a month ago. It has about one million subscribers.
