Computer Associates International, Inc today announced the general availability of three Unicenter performance management solutions designed to address the increasingly complex and costly challenges facing data centre management teams.
CA`s newly enhanced solutions - the Unicenter NetMaster r11 suite of products, Unicenter CA-OPS/MVS Event Management and Automation r11, and Unicenter CA-SYSVIEW Realtime Performance Management r11 - streamline the monitoring and management of today`s mainframe environments, enabling customers to optimise IT performance, availability and resource utilisation more efficiently.

The CA solutions, which work together but can be licensed separately, are available under CA`s FlexSelect Licensing programme and its new Measured Workload Pricing option. Measured Workload Pricing bases licensing costs on measured system usage, enabling customers to align IT spending more closely with changing business requirements in their on-demand environments.
The three solutions reflect CA`s ongoing commitment to supporting the evolving role of the mainframe in customers` enterprise computing strategies and its continued investment in mainframe software research and development:
* Unicenter NetMaster r11, a comprehensive management suite for mainframe-connected TCP/IP and SNA networks, provides Web browser access to real-time and historical information. By simplifying the management of complex network paths that support business applications, Unicenter NetMaster r11 empowers users to maximise service levels with existing staff resources. The new version provides autonomic capabilities to discover abnormalities out of the box as well as REXX support for NetMaster commands and functions.
* Unicenter CA-OPS/MVS Event Management and Automation r11, a comprehensive automated systems operation solution for z/OS environments, helps streamline business processes, increase productivity and reduce operating costs by helping to ensure optimum system availability. The new version provides enhanced support for USS (Unix System Services) and enables cross-console event management.
* Unicenter CA-SYSVIEW Realtime Performance Management r11 enables mainframe system programmers to determine the cause of degraded z/OS system performance by reviewing short-term historical event data. The new version provides an at-a-glance assessment of the overall health of the data centre, supports IMS 9.1, and provides improved WebSphere MQ management and monitoring. Integration with Unicenter CA-OPS/MVS creates a single point for system managers to view and resolve mainframe network and system events and workflows.
