Computer Associates International, Inc (CA) has announced the general availability of CA-Vantage 6.1, the company`s storage resource management solution. The new release extends support and integration with data protection solutions by adding support for ARCserve, CA`s multi-platform data protection solution.
It also provides enhanced management support for EMC Symmetrix Enterprise Storage systems and software through EMC`s Open API program.
CA-Vantage enables organizations to manage their storage requirements, analyze trends and anticipate future requirements. Its common GUI-based management interface provides centralized storage control for Windows 2000, Windows NT, Linux, NetWare, UNIX and mainframe platforms.
CA is a member of the EMC E-Infostructure Developers Program, which provides access to EMC APIs. By sharing its APIs with application vendors such as CA, EMC helps customers take advantage of EMC Enterprise Storage solutions, while eliminating the need for application creation or customization.
