Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) has announced the general availability of AimIT 3.1 and ShipIT 3.0 for clients seeking automated IT asset management and software distribution capabilities that are suited for today`s extended enterprise.
The latest versions AimIT and ShipIT provide full support for eBusinesses looking to effectively control the introduction of newer technologies into their environment - including handheld devices and the Windows 2000 and Linux operating systems. According to IDC`s 2000 Market Forecast and Analysis reports, CA is the market leader in software deployment and ranks second in the asset management market.
Dion Gerrans, regional account manager at Computer Associates Africa, notes that the increasing popularity of new operating systems and mobile devices such as personal digital assistants (PDAs) has significantly changed the typical IT environment.
