Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) today announced first-day support for IBM`s z/OS Release 1.4, the strategic operating system for IBM mainframes, as it has for each preceding z/OS release. Concurrently, CA is delivering first-day support for z/OS.e Release 1.4, the new-workload operating system for the eServer zSeries 800 hardware.
CA`s solutions for z/OS and z/OS.e 1.4 include a broad portfolio of management software across its industry-leading brands: Unicenter (infrastructure management), eTrust (security management), BrightStor (storage management), Advantage (databases and application development), and AllFusion (change and configuration management). Many thousands of customers, who depend on CA solutions for mission-critical infrastructure and information management, are planning to migrate from OS/390 to z/OS 1.4. Other customers, already running z/OS, are planning to upgrade in order to be positioned for future growth. Because CA has continuously enhanced its solutions with new functionality and upgraded its solutions for technical currency, customers will be able to migrate to z/OS 1.4 with the assurance that CA will support their data centre operations across both 31-bit and 64-bit modes.
