Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA) has announced the Enterprise Change Management Solution, the industry`s most comprehensive change management suite, encompassing "n-tier" eBusiness applications and Web content.
CA`s Enterprise Change Management Solution includes new releases of Web CM for Web content management, CCC/Harvest for distributed change management, and Endevor for mainframe change management through the introduction of Endevor Webstation.
CA`s Enterprise Change Management Solution addresses all of an organisation`s change and configuration management (CCM) needs. It enables business managers, software developers, and Web content developers alike to easily manage and define change processes, simplify the tracking of problems and defects, implement effective version/build control, and manage configurations across multiple platforms. This helps to improve responsiveness to change and avoid eBusiness failures that can result from poor change processes.
By bringing much needed discipline to the entire development process, the Enterprise Change Management Solution significantly improves the quality of the resulting applications and/or website. It also maximizes the productivity of development teams by automating and simplifying many of their tasks, such as build and release management.
According to Clive Burrows, principal analyst at Ovum Ltd., the major challenge for organizations is managing the breadth of their IT and Web development as new eCommerce systems demand solutions which support multiple platforms and multiple development environments.
Flaws in such management processes can quickly become evident, as demonstrated by recent failures in several high profile websites and service provider networks. These failures were not due to inadequate infrastructure or security glitches, but by poorly implemented software changes.
Enhancements incorporated into CA`s new Enterprise Change Management suite include:
Web CM 3.0, a full life cycle Web content management solution, helps organizations create, gather, version, test, and deploy sophisticated content for their intranet, extranet, and/or Internet sites. Designed to help teams collaboratively and securely create static and dynamic Web pages, track revisions, and manage the workflow, Web CM speeds content publication and protects sites from unauthorized changes.
CCC/Harvest 5.0 provides a simplified graphical interface for automating business and IT change management processes across multi-platform distributed environments. Its easy-to-use browser interface and multi-tier architecture keep development teams in synch and on schedule by allowing collaboration anywhere in the enterprise.
Endevor Webstation enables Endevor users to access mainframe change management functions from anywhere via a web browser. It also provides an email notification facility, and it enables users to create Endevor Enterprise Packages.
The Enterprise Change Management Solution is part of the ADvantage family of products, which work together to provide a strong foundation for building, deploying and managing eBusiness applications.
