Computer Associates International, Inc (NYSE: CA) has announced it has been awarded a gold medal and earned the highest score among the identity management suite vendors in the Bloor Research Bullseye report on identity management. (1) The score was based on CA`s all-around abilities in identity management, its product roadmap for next year, and the scale and depth of customer implementations.
"CA has built an impressive, well-rounded suite of identity management products which has earned it a gold medal and highest ranking among all of the identity management vendors we analysed," said Fran Howarth, security practice leader for Bloor Research.
"The strength of the company`s technology, including its roadmap for integrating the recently acquired Netegrity products, and evidence from customers place CA in a very strong position in the identity and access management (IAM) market."
Bloor Research has adopted the Bullseye open research framework for all its reports which provides an independent, multi-dimensional model for comparative analysis of IT products.
The Bullseye measures technology and business to provide a set of weighted attribute scores that support optimal purchaser decision-making. Vendors are rated based on a variety of criteria including stability and risk, product performance, support and the maturity of the product line.
"CA continues to deliver the industry`s most robust and comprehensive IAM suite of products that enables our customers to effectively manage risk while reducing their administration costs," said Bill Bartow, senior vice-president of eTrust Identity and Access Management at CA.
"We are honoured that Bloor recognises our leadership position in the rapidly growing IAM market."
Bloor`s recognition of CA`s IAM leadership follows similar reports from leading industry analysts including:
* IDC - being named the worldwide market leader in Identity and Access Management (IAM) software by IDC for the fifth consecutive year. (2)
* Gartner - being positioned on the axis of the leader and visionary quadrants in Gartner`s Magic Quadrant for Extranet Access Management (EAM), Second Half 2005. (3)
CA`s identity and access management architecture empowers IT organisations to better secure their environments and successfully cope with increased complexity and a growing number of internal and external end-users and their access to a whole range of systems, from mainframe to Web applications.
