Computer Associates Africa has partnered with Pink Elephant to offer a full suite of internationally accredited ITIL education courses to the South African market.
ITIL, also known as the IT Infrastructure Library, is a set of best practices developed by the UK`s OGC (Office of Government Commerce). The IT Service Management set, since its inception in 1989, has become the worldwide de facto standard and is recognised by the "big five" consulting firms as a vital element in underpinning corporate governance requirements.
All the Pink Elephant-developed courses are based on the UK`s OGC standard and are product- and vendor-independent, offering education from foundation to practitioner and manager level.
Pink Elephant was the first company to develop courses for ITIL in 1989, and has since then established itself as one of the world`s leading providers of IT service management education and consulting.
After each course, attendees also have to write an internationally accredited exam to obtain certification.
"ITIL is definitely gaining momentum locally as it addresses people and process issues with regards to the implementation and ongoing use of CA technology," comments Andrea Lodolo, national manager: technology services at Computer Associates Africa.
"Indeed, a lot of customers today require products that are ITIL PinkVerified, as is the case with CA, which is why we decided that one way of promoting our commitment and leadership to the methodology is through internationally recognised training."
Adds Neil Petford, Regional Manager for SA at Pink Elephant: "ITIL provides a sound basis for achieving maximum business benefit from the implementation of technology solutions. Pink Elephant offers the educational expertise that enables the cultural change that ITIL drives within the organisation and the consulting expertise that allows the business to recognise the benefits."
The ITIL courses will be delivered in a comprehensive schedule across all major centres.
