Computer Associates International, Inc (NYSE: CA) has announced it has been positioned on the axis of the leader and visionary quadrants in Gartner`s Magic Quadrant for Extranet Access Management (EAM), Second Half 2005*.
According to Gartner, leaders are vendors who are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position in the market.
Visionaries are differentiated by innovation, but have not achieved the record of execution in the EAM or identity and access management (IAM) space to give themselves the high visibility of the leaders.
"CA`s acquisition of Netegrity and the continued extension and integration of our eTrust IAM suite clearly address enterprise requirements for broader, more holistic IAM implementation," said Bill Bartow, senior vice-president of eTrust Identity and Access Management at CA.
"Since the acquisition of Netegrity, CA has grown the SiteMinder customer base and expanded customer implementations to encompass the broader CA identity and access management suite. We are pleased that Gartner recognises our position in the EAM market as we continue to deliver the most robust and comprehensive security management solutions to our customers."
According to Gartner: "By 2007, extranet access management (EAM) as a component within larger identity and access management (IAM) suites will increase to 70% of all EAM purchases."
EAM technology provides the security policy enforcement for Web applications and, when incorporated into a broader IAM implementation, enables organisations to leverage a centralised security infrastructure and identity management schema across Web and non-Web applications. CA is aggressively investing in IAM with continued development of technology acquired through Netegrity and further integration of the Netegrity product line into the CA eTrust IAM suite. CA`s identity and access management architecture empowers IT organisations to better secure their environments and successfully cope with increased complexity and a growing number of internal and external end-users.
