CA has announced that its CA Anti-Virus 2007, for home and home office, has received Checkmark certification from West Coast Labs on the Windows Vista Home Premium platform, meeting independent criteria for protection against viruses.
This is the first product of its kind to be independently certified on the new Windows Vista operating system.
"The Checkmark system certifies information security products to real-world standards," said Chris Thomas, operations director, West Coast Labs. "This certification for CA Anti-Virus is an acknowledgement of the speed with which it is responding to market needs."
CA Anti-Virus provides comprehensive protection, detection and elimination of thousands of computer viruses, worms and Trojan programs, with low system overhead. It includes daily automatic updates; automatic e-mail scanning; scheduled and on-demand scanning; real-time advanced heuristic scanning; interactive virus detection messages; a file exclusion list, and archive scanning.
"With the first Internet security product to receive Windows Vista certification from West Coast Labs, CA Anti-Virus customers now have an added level of assurance in a secure online experience, as they migrate to the new operating system," said David Luft, senior VP, product development, CA.
"We will continue to deliver the industry's best security solutions, so that all PC users can effectively protect themselves against the viruses, worms, Trojan horses and other threats that can wreak so much havoc on their PCs."
