UK hospitals use Dell

The University of North Staffordshire NHS Trust (UK) has implemented Dell blade servers and a storage network to help with the storage and retrieval of patient records.

According to Publictechnology.net, the organisation plans to introduce a document management system that will allow healthcare workers to access patient information through a Web-based interface.

The trust is looking at the possibility of implementing a separate trust site for disaster recovery.

New software for physicians, small clinics

IBM and Misys Healthcare Systems have developed a software solution for physicians and small clinics.

The software automates the management of routine medical record maintenance and will give doctors the ability to access records in real-time. The software will be deployed with various IBM hardware products.
