Accpac International, Inc., a subsidiary of Computer Associates International Inc. , today announced that the Canadian Red Cross has selected the ACCPAC for Windows Corporate Series(tm) business management system as the replacement to its legacy mainframe financial systems. Deployed on a cost-effective, high-performance virtual private network with Microsoft Terminal Server and MetaFrame, the ACCPAC for Windows system will offer remote connectivity to Canadian Red Cross employees at more than 30 sites across Canada. Employees will have real-time access to business-critical information stored on the main database, enabling them to determine the exact availability of relief funds that flood in from hundreds of thousands of banks and corporations. In addition, employees will be able to track statistical information and generate stored and ad-hoc reports-functions previously carried out by the IT department.
