Leading business and specialist application service provider (ASP) Candor Technologies, has announced that it is starting its own operation in Germany.
The core impetus behind the decision is to accelerate sales and provide support to its existing partner and client base that use its Print and Publishing Platform - BizCardprint.com.
Branded as BizCards.de in Germany, Candor`s first print partner, Druck Punkt, has been using the application and offering the ASP service to its clients for over six months. Although a significant client base has been built over the short period of time, Candor states that a sales force focused on the product is needed to consolidate market gains.
Candor`s International Development Officer, Jason Frichol says: "Marketing and selling a product remotely is not ideal. We need face-to-face contact. Our plan is two-fold. We need to expand our Print-on-Demand network and find partners that match the calibre of Druck Punkt in Germany. Secondly, we need to escalate our assault on the German Top 1 000 as we do here in SA."
Candor has appointed Robert Biller to initially head up sales for the product. With vast experience in the Internet and ASP genre, Biller states that to offer the market the ability to typeset (change the details of individual, agent or branch), proof and order their printing requirements online with delivery in 48-hours is paramount.
German companies already set-up on the application include Andersen, APC, BKM, Berger, Colt Telecom, Heye & Partner, KARE, Leiprecht Inc, Overbruck, SSGA, T Systems and Tiscali.
In conjunction with opening its own operation in Germany, Candor is also gearing up for CeBIT in Hanover, which launches on 13 March. Candor forms part of the Wesgro initiative, which is profiling IT companies in the Western Cape at Hall 6, Stand D18.
Candor`s Managing Director Wido Schnabel says he has been attending and exhibiting at CeBIT since 1986. He believes the expo is the greatest meeting place for the IT industry and the ideal launch pad for BizCardPrint.com.
Candor Technologies (Pty) Ltd was registered in 1995 and initially opened its doors as one of the first Internet service providers (ISP) in Africa. Since early 1997 Candor Technologies recognised a new emerging trend: Application service provision (ASP). Poised as a business and specialist ASP development house, Candor has two specialised divisions. The Business ASP Division offers document management, service and tracking management, CRM, contact management, order book, contracting, e-mail management, marketing communication and outsourced on-demand printing bureau applications. The Specialist ASP division deploys custom developed applications as per a client`s specific requirements.
