Canon SA has launched its new product range at Johannesburg`s Market Theatre in the first of three theatrical fashion events also scheduled for Cape Town and Durban.
Five flagship products were featured at Tuesday night`s unusual brand awareness event, including the impressive portable Bubble Jet i70 printer and the EOS 300D digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera.
Canon says the i70 printer sets a new benchmark for compactness and portability, being 40% smaller than its closest rival. "Despite its sleeker appearance, the printer still offers performance that equals that of desktop printers more than twice its size", says Nigel Taylor, general manager of consumer imaging marketing.
"The EOS 300D is the most important consumer SLR since the AE-1 in 1967", says Taylor.
Features of the new 6.3 Megapixel digital SLR include a seven point, high-speed predictive auto focus, 2.5 frame per second burst rate, 35-zone metering, and a Digital Image Core (DIGIC) image processor.
