Canon releases printers
Canon announced two new WiFi inkjet multifunction printers, the PIXMA MP980 and PIXMA MP620, states Market Watch.
Both the PIXMA MP980 and PIXMA MP620 Photo AIO printers offer photographers the features and quality of a personal digital darkroom and office productivity machine in one inkjet device.
The PIXMA MP980 is the first AIO printer to include a separate grey and photo black ink, for neutral black-and-white photo printing, a key demand for an SLR camera user.
HP goes green
Hewlett-Packard imaging and printing senior VP Christopher Morgan says a good first step towards understanding a company's environmental footprint is to view the equipment being used and the processes employed by workers, reports Recycle.
To help with printing management in the workplace, HP has developed a workflow software system branded Print 2.0.
The software is designed to scan documents and transmit them electronically, cutting down on paper and ink waste.
HP cuts printing costs
HP and its partners have announced a group of new solutions designed to lower business printing costs, says VNUnet.
Customers will have increased control over printing resources, with a new solution called Imaging and Printing Job Accounting and Security.
A new offering HP has developed with partner Standard Register, called Print Optimisation Solution, will report on printer usage and offer interactive messaging to educate users on the cost of printing.
