SMS Cellular Services' CellSys solution has become locally known as the most reliable and hassle-free way of SMS-enabling businesses that range in size from SMEs to large multinationals.
To bolster its already strong presence in the local market, the company recently released v9.6 of the CellSys SMS Server with the CellSys Enterprise Application Server.
The new CellSys Enterprise Application Server, which is in essence a platform for client/server software systems, allows users across a large organisation to send SMS messages directly from their workstation with little cost deployment, and offers the ability to SMS-enable as many, or as few business applications as the customer sees fit. Custom SMS application development is also simplified through the use of this platform.
"The Enterprise Application Server also allows for the delivery of SMS messages that have been triggered by system events or back-end processes in existing line-of-business or ERP systems. This means that customers can choose the level of functionality they require today and add functionality as they start to see returns," Carsten Hauch, Technical Director of SMS Cellular Services explains.
"The platform offers an alternative to traditional Web, Microsoft .NET, IBM Websphere and existing thin client technologies and with a client side footprint of around 80kb, is vastly smaller than any equivalent worldwide," he continues.
"Add to this the fact that the CellSys Enterprise Application Server is ActiveDirectory and LDAP aware, and you have a scenario where policies can be used to manage client machines in such a way that it ensures staff members only have access to the functionality they require and are limited to a preset list of messages they can use in their interactions with customers, colleagues and suppliers," says Barry Prinsloo, Sales Director of SMS Cellular Services.
"This support also means that customers have access to a complete audit trail, so administrators and managers can pull detailed reports on what volume of messages employees with SMS functional are sending and monitor the effectiveness of set text messages," he continues.
"Another vital value-add is the system's two way communications capabilities, allowing customers and employees to reply to an SMS from the business, or simply send an SMS to the business, guaranteed of the message's delivery and saving the cost of a phone call for both parties," says Prinsloo.
"The platform provides for a single point of development, management, deployment and a single database. It supports all industry standard databases on the server and allows for applications to be developed using common programming languages such as C++, Visual Basic (VB), Delphi and the like," says Hauch.
The complete suite of CellSys SMS Server and client applications and its associated software has been designed specifically for the high reliability and high throughput demanded by any large company.
The CellSys infrastructure with its connections into all the local cellular operators and international aggregators allows for the delivery of SMS messages at the highest rates possible while full control and manageability of the system is provided through these direct links into the operators' Short Message Service Centers (SMSCs). This degree of availability coupled with the provision of a class of service for all SMS traffic, allows for prioritisation and tracking of SMS messages, a cornerstone for a mission-critical SMS applications.
The products are developed in SA and thus full technical support, including access to the original developers, as well as all local staff training is available anywhere within the boundaries of SA.
