The BlackBerry Bold 9790 and Curve 9380 are now available from Cell C. Both handsets run the BlackBerry 7 operating system.

The Bold 9790 features a touch display, as well as the standard qwerty keyboard and optical trackpad. The handset also has a 1GHz processor and 8GB onboard memory, extendable to 32GB with a memory card. The Bold 9790 is available on the BlackBerry All Week 100, at R299 per month, on a 24-month contract.

The Curve 9380 is the first of the Curve range to be all-touch. With a 3.2-inch display, the handset also has a 5MP camera with built-in flash. The Curve 9380 is available on BlackBerry All Week 100, at R199 per month, on a 24-month contract.

Cell C spokesperson Karin Fourie says: “The two handsets will make a nice addition to the BlackBerry smartphones we already have on offer.”

“We are excited to work with Cell C to bring these two new BlackBerry 7-based smartphones to customers,” says RIM's director of product management for Africa, Rui Brites. “These new handsets deliver an outstanding mix of communications, multimedia, productivity and social connectivity features.”

The handsets were initially launched in SA in February through Vodacom. Full specifications can be found on the BlackBerry Web site.
