Cell C has launched its commercial fibre offering, C-Fibre, through a partnership with open access fibre network operator, Vumatel.
Cell C says it is also in discussions with other fibre providers to supply an end-to-end service to customers across the country, but for the moment the uncapped fibre offerings are only available to clients in the Vumatel footprint.
"In a world where content and technology are converging, customers are going to need high-speed and unrestricted access that will allow them to keep pace with their content consumption," says Cell C CEO Jose Dos Santos.
Cell C says its three C-Fibre options will all offer unlimited, unrestricted symmetrical data - meaning uncapped and unshaped with the same performance when downloading or uploading.
The first option is a 20Mbps offering for R899 per month, the second is 50Mbps for R1 149 per month, and the third is a 100Mbps offering for R1 499 per month.
All include free installation valued at R1 710, free connection worth R999, and a free WiFi router with LTE fail-over worth R1 799.
The telecoms operator says C-Fibre forms part of its focused broadband strategy.
"We are focused on providing the best possible experience to our customers and will be developing our broadband strategy to ensure customers receive the quality and value they have come to expect from Cell C," adds Dos Santos.
