Until the end of September, Ronald Reddick headed up the operator's Technical Group division. However, he has since left the company. Cell C would not comment on why Reddick decided to leave.
Cell C recently started a process to reorganise the Technical Group division, it says. As part of the reorganisation, the operator split the function into two parts - network and IT.
Its network unit will now be headed up by a CTO, while IT will have a dedicated CIO. Cell C says it has started looking for people to fill these roles and “the intention is to make permanent appointments as soon as possible”.
Reddick, who appeared in Cell C advertisements alongside comedian Trevor Noah, when the company launched its upgraded network, is the second high-level staff member to leave in the past few months, following the sudden departure of former CEO Lars Reichelt in July.
Reddick, who Noah referred to as “the bald guy” in the commercials, joined Cell C in November 2009, according to his LinkedIn profile.
