Cell C markets 'loyalty` SMSes

Cell C has started the Easychat prepaid promotion, which aims to up customers` talk time by offering SMS 'rewards`.

Easychat gives callers who spend more than two minutes on the phone an SMS valued at 80c, or 15% of the cost of the call. The SMSes accumulate automatically, and customers will receive an SMS notification with the number of SMSes accrued during the call.

The benefits apply both to on- and off-peak calls and to all Cell C`s prepaid packages. There is no limit to the number of SMSes a subscriber can build-up per day, but there is a restriction of five SMSes for each call made, says Vanashree Pillay, Cell C executive head of corporate communications.

"SMSes accumulated and not used within 60 days will, however, be forfeited," she says.
