Local Harris distributor IDXOnline, a provider of network security solutions, has announced STAT DVM, a new enterprise vulnerability assessment tool. STAT DVM enables organisations to efficiently pinpoint exploitable vulnerabilities across large distributed networks from a single "command and control" site.
According to IDXOnline Enterprise Solutions business manager Bruce Bean, STAT DVM minimises IT overhead by centralising vulnerability management, while providing a single enterprise-wide view of critical network weaknesses before they can be exploited.
STAT DVM`s distributed architecture reduces vulnerability discovery time and network demands, allowing organisations to react to new threats faster and with fewer resources. Dividing the work across several remote scanning nodes results in multiple paths of parallel vulnerability scanning, which places less of a burden on network traffic than if a single scanner were checking the network for vulnerabilities. This type of scanning architecture delivers high-speed performance while causing no degradation in the performance of the network.
STAT DVM expands the capabilities of Harris Corporation`s core vulnerability scanning technology, STAT Scanner. STAT Scanner is the only vulnerability assessment scanner to receive Common Criteria Certification, which was developed by national security coordinators in the US, Europe and Canada to provide assurance that the many types of commercially and nationally sensitive government-use IT security products currently available actually do what their vendors claim they will do.
"Our security vulnerability management solution is specifically designed for centrally managed network enterprises," said Bean. "With critical vulnerabilities announced almost daily, large enterprises need to know immediately how vulnerable their entire systems are. STAT DVM allows security officers and network administrators to scan faster with fewer resources, generating a single, integrated view of the status of their entire network."
The STAT product line provides network security solutions backed by decades of expertise in information security. STAT vulnerability management products offer proactive protection of information and computer networks from hackers, viruses and other threats.
