Challenging 'old school' MPLS connectivity with leading-edge, multi-site VPN solutions from Syrex

Syrex, a specialist in the installation and support of various different network infrastructures, today announced that it is trumping multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) and changing the 'old school' way of thinking!

"Utilising a multitude of carrier-agnostic Internet or last-mile connections, we are able to provide a total inter-site VPN architecture," commented Ralph Berndt of Syrex. "This technology allows us to provide a highly flexible, redundant, secure and cost-effective inter-site solution with the ability to break-out to the Internet, either via a single location or at each site.

"From a flexibility perspective, the solution provides for a centralised or decentralised Internet break-out; it negates the need to have a hub and spoke architecture; and is additionally able to utilise the most appropriate last-mile carrier, based on cost and location, to achieve this VPN architecture.

"From a redundancy perspective, the solution provides multiple link management with automatic fail over; quality of service (QOS) and line management; monitoring and reporting; and the inclusion of LTE fail over as a standard feature.

"From a security perspective, the solution conforms to internationally recognised FIPS-compliant VPN tunnels, ie secure encryption to protect all data flows; and a secure fully mobile VPN to and from any site.

"From a cost-efficiency viewpoint, the solution is preferable, as legacy point-to-point architectures are expensive and not as robust; it utilises public Internet connections and leading-edge fibre mediums to achieve greater economies of scale by reducing overhead and connectivity costs; and provides a passive backup capability so that connections only incur costs when they are required," continued Berndt.

"Syrex provides a totally managed solution, including the last-mile, as well as devices at each site that enables all of the above," concluded Berndt. "Our unique ability to design an architecture that is bespoke and carrier-agnostic gives clients insight and access to cheaper, better and faster technology."
