Channel brings green IT solutions
Everything Channel hosted a virtual event focused on green IT solutions which attracted nearly 2 000 solution providers and technology vendors from around the country, reports Market Watch.
The virtual event entitled Green Day: Capitalising on Going Green, featured top executives from Intel, Hewlett-Packard and VMware who demonstrated products, viewed live presentations and virtually met potential business partners, without ever having to leave the office.
Chris Sullivan, vice-president of Everything Channel, said: "Addressing green IT opportunities is exactly what our solution provider constituents have been asking for and we were pleased to bring our vendor sponsors together with solution providers in this interactive virtual platform."
Oracle expands product range
Oracle has unveiled several initiatives, including expanded training services and enhancements to the Oracle PartnerNetwork portal, designed to encourage the company's 20 000 solution providers to sell a broader range of its product portfolio, says Channel Web.
Oracle's channel partners accounted for 40% of the company's total revenue in fiscal 2008, co-president Safra Catz stated at the Oracle Partner Forum, the channel partner portion of the Oracle OpenWorld conference in San Francisco.
Oracle has acquired 47 companies within three years, and the company's product portfolio has grown from 1 000 products five years ago to nearly 9 000 products today.
Zebra looks for partners in India
Zebra Technologies, a provider in specialty printing and automatic identification solutions, conducted a Channel Partner event in Kochi, India, says India PR Wire.
Zebra Technologies is looking to target organised retail, logistics and manufacturing segments for selling its printing solutions.
Shailesh Deshmukh, country head, India, for Zebra Technologies, says: "Kochi is the economic capital of Kerala, posting a GDP growth rate of 8.3%; thus making it one of the fastest-growing second-tier metro cities in India."
