Specialist storage distributor, Channel Data has announced that the Nexsan SATA (serial ATA) disk array is now an official storage device for use with CaminoSoft`s Managed Server HSM (hierarchical storage management) for Microsoft Windows 2000 and Novell NetWare software.
Essentially, this means that Nexsan SATA offerings that include InfinSANA ATA boy2 can now be deployed as destination target for data migrated with CaminoSoft HSM software.
"This certification is important as it now enables South African companies to achieve Intelligent Data Management using tiered storage within their Windows or NetWare environments and helps to reduce storage costs in Novell GroupWise environments," comments Amit Parbhucharan, Manager, Software Products at Channel Data.
Channel Data followed the specified and official CaminoSoft requirements that included migration, recall, and deletion testing in order to certify Nexsan.
Comments Richard Krueger, Vice President of Channel Sales and Marketing at CaminoSoft: "We`re very pleased with the Nexsan certification by Channel Data, which will indeed benefit our SA customers. Storage devices that are deployed in conjunction with CaminoSoft`s Managed Server HSM software must be robust, scalable, and cost-effective - Nexsan definitely fulfils these requirements."
CaminoSoft`s Managed Server HSM solutions for Windows 2000 and NetWare handle the complexities of data storage management. The software operates seamlessly with companies` production servers, off-the-shelf storage devices, NAS appliances, and general purpose file servers.
Nexsan`s ATAboy2, for example, features RAID controllers and host connections that are user-pluggable. The Nexsan ATAboy2`s design provides reliable, redundant data protection, which is key for data migration.
