Exabyte Corporation, a leading supplier of tape storage devices and network storage solutions for the data intensive application and database server markets, announced that Channel Data will be the distributing its storage and backup products in the South African market.
Channel Data will be supplying the engineered for network backup/restore, remote storage and automated archiving for mission critical data. "We expect customer response for Exabyte libraries to be very positive. Our goal with this family of libraries is to bring traditionally higher-end library features to midrange users at an affordable price point. Based on current order status and customer feedback," said Peri Grover, senior marketing manager at Exabyte.

The Exabyte 430 accommodates up to four M2 tape drives and 30 data cartridges and offers the ability to conduct unattended operations for over 10 hours.
The 430 library occupies just five rack units and two cubic feet, utilizing very little space and maximizing the use of valuable data center space. Designed to provide a scalable solution and protect the user's investment, the library allows users to start with as few as one drive and ten cartridges and easily add drives and cartridges as their data storage needs grow.
