
China Mobile drives IP convergence
Chinese telecom ZTE has been selected by China Mobile to deliver its IP multimedia subsystem (IMS) core network to Chinese provinces, reports TMCnet.
This will allow China Mobile to deliver converged voice and multimedia services to individual and enterprise users over IMS.
ZTE will deploy the network in five provinces, which account for 16% of the China Mobile share; while Huawei will take up 63% of the total share and Nokia-Siemens, Alcatel-Lucent, and Ericsson will be responsible for the remaining provinces.
Nvidia eyes 3DTV
Nvidia is converging future Nvidia Verde GPU drivers across desktops and notebooks and plans to release a notebook that can be connected directly to a 3DTV, states Notebooks.com.
The Verde drivers extend 3D Vision support to notebooks thanks to the latest Nvidia Verde v197 release, and now the graphics card company is planning an Nvidia 3DTV Play-Ready PC.
The technology will enable 3D multimedia viewing and gaming. The Nvida Verde GPU drivers aim to boost gaming performance by 30%.
RIM converges the mobile workforce
BlackBerry users can now integrate their smartphones to the corporate phone system via WiFi, says PC Mag.com.
Research in Motion (RIM) has revealed the latest version of Mobile Voice System 5 (MVS 5) along with Cisco Unified Communications Manager that enables users to share a single phone number between an office phone and a smartphone.
MVS 5 with Voice over WiFi calling ensures telephony systems remain under company compliancy even when workers are away from the office.
