Churches scramble to meet FCC rules

American churches have less than one week to change their microphone equipment or face more than $100 000 in fines, writes the Baptist Standard.

In January, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) mandated that anyone using wireless microphones on the 700MHz band must stop by 12 June in order to make room for use by police, fire and services.

An unlicensed person or business using microphones on frequencies between 698 MHz and 806MHz must stop or face action by the FCC. Violators could face up to $112 500 in fines or imprisonment for continued violation, according to the FCC. Violations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

Green AV at InfoComm 2010

Control Concepts (CCI), a provider of audio-visual control system solutions, says 'Be green - save green' will be the theme for the company's show presence at InfoComm 2010 this week in Las Vegas, according to PRWeb.

As part of the company's green AV show theme, Control Concepts has created a free green AV energy audit checklist available for download from its Web site.

The checklist provides 20 tips on ways to reduce the energy consumption of both new and existing audio-visual system installations.

Dataton multi-display system showcased

The Expo 2010 in Shanghai, which opened last month, is showcasing the largest roll-out of the Dataton 'Watch out' multi-display presentation and production system in a single location, says AV Interactive.

More than two-dozen of the Expo's pavilions, aimed at gathering and presenting the world's cultures, are using the technology, including the host China pavilion, the City of the Future, the City of Planets, the City of Dreams, and various national pavilions.

The Macau Pavilion alone is using over 130 Watchout-equipped computers to produce its AV show.
