Networking giant Cisco has appointed Stefano Mattiello to head its channel business in SA to support the company's new sales model and to grow its partner strategy.
Channel partners make up more than 90% of Cisco's business. According to Mattiello, Cisco's channel sales strategy aims to refocus efforts on a partner-led go-to-market sales model.
“It is not so much a new sales model, but rather a refocus to ensure that we empower our partners as much as possible to best represent Cisco in the local market,” he notes.
He adds: “As the channel director, my role is to cement our existing partner relationships, engage with potential partners and continue to find ways in which to leverage our global partner opportunities to deliver continued growth.”
Prior to joining Cisco, Mattiello was the chief sales and marketing officer for Neotel, responsible for building the network provider's enterprise business.
Before joining Neotel, Mattiello held positions at Motorola between 2004 and 2007, and Sun Microsystems as the MD, doubling the size of the local operation in three years.
