Cisco to reduce GHG emissions
Cisco has set a goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions from its worldwide operations by 25% over the next four years, reaching its goal in absolute terms by 2012, reports Pollution on line.
The company will deploy a unique multipronged approach focused on the power of technology to meet its objectives and to demonstrate how customers can do the same.
Cisco chairman and CEO John Chambers outlined the plan at Cisco Live!, the company's annual information technology and communications conference.
University of Tennessee implements Aruba
The US University of Tennessee has selected and is deploying Aruba's adaptive wireless LAN and secure mobility solution at its Chattanooga campus, says Digital Producer.
Originally founded in 1886 as Chattanooga University, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga today serves 9 000 students on a 101-acre metropolitan campus.
The university's legacy single-channel network could not be made to work reliably due to interference and issues with security features. Aruba demonstrated that its Adaptive Radio Management and identity-based security technology could resolve both issues, and Aruba was awarded the replacement project.
