"The Internet and IP networks as we know them are changing," said Marthin De Beer, senior vice-president of Cisco's Emerging Technologies group. "In the near future, 90% of consumer network traffic will be video and rich media.”

A new portable electrocardiogram machine, the MAC 400, can take 100 EKGs on a single battery charge and weighs less than 1.4kg reports Rediff News.
This is appropriate for rural areas in emerging markets where electricity is not always readily available and where patients cannot easily travel to urban diagnostic centres.
The MAC 400 was designed at General Electric's John F Welch Technology Centre in Bangalore by a team of Indian engineers.
