Citrix Systems SA has launched the Citrix Academy programme to address some of the "glaring gaps" in specialist skills in SA's IT industry.

The eight-month programme will be deployed in conjunction with Microsoft and Bytes People Solutions and will see successful candidates undergo a three-month training programme on Citrix and Microsoft technology, before being deployed to a Citrix for a five-month practical internship.

Lisa Kelynack, partner account manager at Citrix Systems Southern Africa, explains: "We believe that, by participating in this academy programme, with the buy-in from our partner base, we will be able to dramatically increase the number of Citrix qualified consultants with practical experience."

Training costs will be covered by Citrix Systems and Microsoft, while will provide candidates with a monthly stipend. Only 15 candidates will be accepted at a time.

Interested parties with a BComm, BSc Computer Science or BTech qualification can apply to Bytes People Solutions to participate in this programme.
