Citrix leads desktop virtualisation market

Corporation (IDC) report, says Code Stone.

The vendor was the only one placed in the 'leaders' category on the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Desktop Virtualisation 2011 Vendor Analysis study.

Citrix was praised for the comprehensive set of technologies it provides its customers with, as well as the “firm strategic grip” it has with regards to advancing its product offering.

According to Virtualization.com, IDC expects the desktop virtualisation market to make significant gains in both revenues and total customer count well into the second-half of the decade.

As the solutions mature, they will become increasingly applicable to more organisations and a greater breadth of vertical industries. The report evaluates the current capabilities and long-term strategies of 12 desktop virtualisation software vendors.

The report, IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Desktop Virtualisation 2011 Vendor Analysis, evaluates vendors in the desktop virtualisation space by analysing their current capabilities as well as their longer-term strategies that impact their ability to provide solutions and gain market share going forward.
