Citrix Systems, Inc, the global leader in access infrastructure solutions, announced that the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite has won the Midsize Enterprise Innovation Award for "Best Manufacturing Solution".
Citrix was selected from a group of 10 technology vendors by more than 80 manufacturing senior IT executives who attended Midsize Enterprise Summit Central, produced by Vision Events and Gartner, held from 10 to 12 September in Austin, Texas. Citrix was also nominated for the Midsize Enterprise Innovation Award for "Best Midmarket Solution".
According to Chris Norton, country manager for Citrix South Africa: "The Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite is the easiest way for organisations to provide secure, easy and instant access to enterprise applications and information on demand, while ensuring a consistent access experience from anywhere, anytime, using any device, over any connection."
"Citrix access infrastructure software is used by the top 10 manufacturers in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and automotive industries, as well as 19 of the top 20 hi-tech manufacturers. Moreover, 99% of the Fortune 500 and 97% of the Fortune Global 100 use Citrix."
"By selecting the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite as `Best Manufacturing Solution,` the senior IT executives at Midsize Enterprise Summit have recognised Citrix as a leader in access infrastructure solutions," says Charles Badoian, event director for Midsize Enterprise Summit.
The Midsize Enterprise Innovation Award for "Best Manufacturing Solution" is given to the best overall technology solution designed for midsize manufacturing businesses, which are defined as having more than 100 employees and annual sales revenue of $100 million to $1 billion. Emphasis is placed on product and service features, the ability to work with existing standards and the degree to which the company`s products contribute to the development of future midsize enterprise solutions. Vendors are nominated and winners selected based on confidential ballots completed by IT executive guests during the final boardroom sessions of the summit.
"Citrix is focused solely on access, because business depends on information and the value of information depends on the ability to access it," says Norton. "Manufacturers - in fact, companies in every industry - are realising that secure, easy, instant access is a compelling competitive advantage. The Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite, the most comprehensive access infrastructure available, centralises applications to enable IT staffs more efficiently to deliver, manage, monitor and measure enterprise information resources. This simplifies the complexity and reduces the costs of deploying and administering hundreds of heterogeneous applications and delivering them to workers on demand anywhere, anytime, to any device, over any connection."
