According to Citrix, Wainer will focus on driving virtual computing awareness and adoption in southern Africa. He will manage the southern African team, generate business opportunities and develop Citrix's channel.
“Virtual computing is at a tipping point in southern Africa, especially as the consumerisation of IT begins to heavily influence the enterprise,” says Wainer.
“There is a significant opportunity for virtualisation to help southern African enterprises lower costs, increase flexibility, foster self-service and create more agile IT environments. The prospects open to me by joining the company were clear from the outset; Citrix is a clear leader in the virtualisation space.”
James Stevenson, Citrix's area VP for UK, Ireland and SA, says Wainer's more than 15 years' experience and knowledge of the enterprise market will be an asset to the company.
Before joining Citrix, Wainer was country manager at Check Point Software Technologies and MicroStrategy. He has also worked for a variety of high-profile ICT companies, including Oracle, Fujitsu Siemens and Dell.
