City awards business expansion grant

The City of Melbourne in Australia has awarded workflow software company, Web and Flo, a business expansion grant, says NewsMaker.

The Melbourne company will receive the maximum available amount of $30 000 to continue their expansion within the workflow and BPM software industry. The funding is available twice a year to small businesses currently located in the City of Melbourne, and encourages a thriving and competitive business environment.

Web and Flo were assessed against the Small Business Grants objectives and application criteria. An external independent review panel considered their application and recognised that Web and Flo offered a valuable contribution to the achievement of the programme's objectives.

The Business Process Management Consortium (BPM-C), in cooperation with the SOA Consortium (SOA-C), has issued a 'call for participation' for the BPM / SOA Symposium, to be held in Long Beach, California in the US in December, according to Reuters.

The BPM / SOA Symposium is one in a series of on-going events looking at ways that management business processes can yield great benefits for enterprises.

This session is a forum for BPM-C / SOA-C members and non-members to present and discuss experiences, recommendations and visions on the ways a business can most effectively plan and deliver on the benefits of BPM and SOA in the Cloud.

Formscan, a document solutions provider, has reached an agreement with Metastorm, a provider of software for enterprise architecture, business process analysis, and BPM, to become a reseller and integrator of the Metastorm BPM software suite, states IT News Online.

This agreement follows Formscan's acquisition of Anacomp in April of this year, and represents a strategic building block in the company's rapid development and growth.

According to Formscan, it now provides its clients with true 'end-to-end' solutions, embracing BPM, document scanning, conversion, migration, hosting, management, processing and archiving solutions, addressing today's critical challenges of business efficiency, security, disaster recovery, customer service standards and regulatory compliance.
