Cloud-based apps tool unveiled

In an economic environment where demands are high and margins often thin, problems with critical business applications can quickly turn profits into losses, writes Reuters.

According to Verizon Business, its new application assurance service allows business customers to keep their network-based business processes running smoothly and reliably.

The new software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based offering, available in December to Verizon Private IP customers around the world, enables customers to efficiently monitor both application and network traffic.

Riverbed updates RiOS

Riverbed Technology updated the Riverbed Optimisation System (RiOS) software that runs its Steelhead wide area files services devices, according to SearchDisasterRecovery.

Riverbed's RiOS 6 now allows replication processing for disaster recovery or backup in the same Steelhead device used for application acceleration.

The update adds support for accelerating Citrix Systems' virtual desktops over wide area networks, and improving protection and security.

Venyu gives Packers protection

The Green Bay Packers sports team will toughen their IT defence with disaster recovery plans in partnership with Venyu, states WTN News.

Venyu offers enterprise software via SaaS solutions for data protection, availability and disaster recovery.

The solution, called AmeriVault, offers online data backup and recovery solutions and will provide the Packers remote backup for their production servers including SharePoint and SQL.
