Cloud gets automated

Network Computing.

According to HP, 3Par's Utility Storage technology aims to reduce cloud application deployment time from days to minutes; improve efficiency of storage management; and cut storage costs by up to 50%.

IT Pro says HP expects this functionality will help speed-up a company's move to cloud services and increase the speed of deployment, as continues to grow.

HP has brought together its own HP X9300 Network Storage Gateway with 3Par's storage system to combine tiering capabilities with thin provisioning.

To automate the provisioning of multi-tenant cloud storage, 3Par Utility Storage can be managed as part of HP's CloudSystem, for delivering services across private, public and hybrid clouds, says Computing.co.uk.

The company says HP-UX now fully supports 3Par storage, and it has trained more than 10 000 sales and service staff, both its own and those employed by channel partners, in the 3Par storage products since it bought the company, states The Register.
