Cognos has announced the availability of Cognos HeadStarts for System Software Associates` (SSA) BPCS ERP software. Cognos HeadStarts for BPCS allows users to extract and analyse data using Cognos`s OLAP and reporting tools.
Cognos Impromptu, the operational reporting tool, works with all BPCS applications including Configurable Enterprise Financials and Multi-Mode Manufacturing. HeadStarts for BPCS`s predefined catalogues enable users to extract data throughout their ERP environment and provide the means for information to be shared.
Cognos PowerPlay, the OLAP tool, provides multidimensional insights into the BPCS environment through its pre-built PowerCubes.

HeadStarts for BPCS is the latest addition to Cognos`s HeadStarts programme and is available immediately free of charge to new or existing Cognos customers using BPCS. Other Cognos HeadStarts include Baan, Oracle, and PeopleSoft. Cognos also markets Accelerator for SAP, a data warehousing and reporting solution for SAP R/3 systems, enabling data extraction, transformation and loading from R/3 into corporate data warehouses, departmental data marts or into Cognos PowerPlay cubes for OLAP.
