College implements HR service
Regent's College has implemented a new Web-based HR and payroll service to support its plans for growth over the next five years, states Employee Benefits.
The higher education institution has appointed NorthgateArinso to provide its ResourceLink Aurora system in order to streamline processes and cut down the amount of administration required.
A range of working patterns at the college had resulted in a significant degree of transactional workload for its payroll team.
Varsity gets Absoft software
The University of Abertay Dundee has signed up to a new HR and payroll software solution run and hosted by leading independent SAP consultancy Absoft, which specialises in serving the higher education sector, writes PR Fire.
The new solution offers the institution major cost and energy savings in crucial organisational operations. The system will be hosted on servers located at Absofts UK data centre, which can then be remotely accessed by desktop computers in offices anywhere in the world. Abertay intends to begin using the service before the end of the year.
Absoft managing director, Ian Mechie, says the development allows clients to access world class HR and payroll software, while avoiding the substantial implementation costs associated with installing such systems on-site, and minimising ongoing operational bills.
Datanomic in Asia Pacific expansion
Risk and compliance screening and enterprise data management specialist, Datanomic, has further expanded its Asia Pacific presence and the market reach of its dn:Director for HR solution through a new partnership agreement with Hong Kong-based IT services specialist, COL, says Sourcewire.
The partnership will enable organisations to gain business visibility through a 'single view' of HR data by resolving errors and inconsistencies held in multiple discrete and often incompatible systems.
The HR issues associated with an ageing workforce, pension obligations and their various associated funds and schemes, mergers and acquisitions, and the employment of contract workers, all have implications that are reliant on accurate employee data.
