Colour printer market continues to grow as Gestetner extends printer range

2004 will be remembered as the year of colour in the office, according to Gartner. Spurred on by this good year, the colour printer market continues to experience double-digit growth driven by the increasingly low average selling price of colour printers, continually reducing costs per page and the growing demand for colour in internal and external-facing documents.

To meet this growing demand for fast, reliable and cost-effective colour in the office, Gestetner SA has introduced two new colour laser printers, the C7425dn and C7425hdn. These high-performance printers fulfil the everyday document needs of office workgroups while reducing total cost of colour ownership.

These devices offer powerful processors to ensure fast printing speeds, while true 1 200dpi resolution and the ability to handle a variety of paper sizes and weights provide professional-looking output. The C7425dn and C7425hdn offer double-sided capability as standard, alongside flexible network connectivity.

"Ease of use is an important feature of all Gestetner products," says Richard Pinker, MD of Gestetner SA. Gestetner`s RPCS printer driver guides users through tasks with a clear, icon-based system. WebImageMonitor, a powerful remote management tool, comes as standard with the printer. Accessed via a simple Web browser interface, this streamlines administration for network managers while also allowing users to monitor paper and toner levels from their own PCs.

The C7425dn and C7425hdn come standard with a 550-sheet paper tray, which can be further upgraded to a maximum capacity of 1 750 sheets. In addition, these printers are very reliable, boasting a high duty cycle of 150K and high-yield toner cartridges, which enable longer print jobs to be completed without interruption.

Added security is a further benefit of Gestetner`s latest colour printers. The data overwrite security feature, which is offered as standard on the C7425hdn and optional on the C7425dn, protects sensitive information stored on the HDD without physically securing access to the device. The security module overwrites temporary data stored on the HDD with random code, following completion of print jobs. Without this feature, confidential information could potentially be retrieved or stolen. Gestetner`s security unit also encrypts data sent across the office network, so customers can rest assured that their information is safe from misuse.
