Come home to digital at the DigitalLife Expo 09

Johannesburg, 01 Oct 2008

Hot on the heels of the inaugural DigitalLife Expo earlier this year, ITWeb has launched the DigitalLife Expo 09, with twice as much exhibition space and dozens more exhibits for consumers to enjoy.

Positioned under the banner, Come Home to Digital, the DigitalLife Expo 09 takes place from 27 to 29 March 2009 at the Sandton Convention Centre,

The industry is still reaping rewards after the DigitalLife Expo 08. Not only because the show was the first of its kind to showcase technology and the digital experience to South African consumers on such a large scale, but because of the overwhelming support it attracted.

"Almost 7 500 adult consumers and hundreds of under-12s attended the DigitalLife Expo 08. The show also drew a significant media contingent: almost 50 journalists and a large number of radio, TV and print media personalities attended, providing more than R4 million's worth of Expo media coverage," says Angela Wressell, Event Director of the DigitalLife Expo, and director if ITWeb, organisers of the expo.

Research conducted on a sample of DigitalLife Expo 08 attendees shows that most visitors are between 18 and 55 years old; attend the show to preview, evaluate and purchase new products; are seeking expert advice; spend on average between R5 000 and R15 000 a year on consumer electronics; and are mostly spending their money on software, portable devices and home entertainment equipment.

DigitalLife caters for all of this. As the only consumer technology outlet in SA that offers the complete digital lifestyle experience, the DigitalLife Expo is the ultimate digital products and services showcase.

Visitors can enjoy everything from digital content, including ringtones, music and mobile TV; to digital products and services, covering a wide range of personal, business and home applications; all within the easy-to-navigate pavilion exhibition structure.

The Digital Home, a walk-though home complete with wireless broadband connectivity and integrated home technologies, was a great success and will once again take centre stage at next year's event.

The DigitalLife Expo 09 will feature two exhibition halls, occupying double the floorspace at 10 480 square metres with an estimated 12 000 consumers attending over three days. Exhibitors are being encouraged to sign up early, as bookings are rolling in and space is limited.

"A number of major sponsors and exhibitors have already booked their space, including Event Sponsor, 'do broadband' powered by Telkom; Digital Entertainment pavilion sponsor, Microsoft; Digital Content Pavilion Sponsor, Vodafone Live and Vodacom; Iomega; Mvix & Zound; ECN Telecommunications; Datashuttle; BackupSA; Ergo-Tilt; and Ananzi," adds Wressell.

There's something for everyone at DigitalLife Expo - from the consumers looking to experience and purchase new technology to the exhibitors with their inspired products and services wanting to be a part of this process. Everyone can now 'Come Home to Digital' at the DigitalLife Expo 09.
