CommVault Simpana 8 completes certification for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2

CommVault eases upgrades with support for Microsoft's latest server and client OS releases, while further leveraging Simpana Software's 64-bit architecture for optimal data management.

CommVault Systems (NASDAQ: CVLT) has completed Windows Server 2008 R2 certification and now supports Windows 7 to ensure that CommVault Simpana software seamlessly operates with the latest versions of Microsoft Corp's flagship server and desktop operating systems.

CommVault's Simpana software has been optimised for Windows Server 2008 R2, which includes new virtualisation tools, Web resources, management enhancements and Windows 7 integration capabilities. In passing stringent certification criteria, CommVault can extend the benefits of Simpana software to this new server OS release while easing upgrades for existing customers.

CommVault also has announced support for Windows 7, further easing desktop upgrades and facilitating access to new Microsoft client OS features and improvements.

* Simpana software also utilises an optimised 64-bit architecture, which is well suited for Microsoft environments with multiple applications, including Windows, Exchange and SharePoint.

* CommVault's software is “release independent”, which simplifies and expedites new installations and upgrades to Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7.
