Compaq Computer today announced the launch of the Presario 1800 notebook series, delivering leading edge core specs that enable incredible multimedia and the best internet experience in a convenient all-in-one design and stylish blue colour .
The Presario 1830 notebook adds new levels of performance, including the Intel Pentium III 450 MHz processor, a 15" display, ATI 3D Rage LT Pro with 2X AGP Graphics and 8MB of video memory. It incorporates the highest performance video, best-sounding audio, and a 56K ITU V.90 modem to provide speedy Internet access.

Customers can take multimedia and Internet on the road with great mobile audio and video technology including crystal clear DVD movies using the 4X DVD drives and 2X AGP Graphics. The Presario is also equipped with JBL Pro Audio with Bass Reflex which delivers, high fidelity portable audio with high-powered, low distortion amplifiers. It also incorporates innovative Disqplay technology allowing consumers to have audio CD playback without booting the notebook.
Internet Zone
The new notebook allows the customer to use the Internet to its full potential, providing quick and easy access to frequently used functions. With the Compaq exclusive Internet Zone the customer has a one touch connection to the Internet, and can search with Altavista, shop online, e-mail friends and family or find answers to questions about their internet PC on the My Presario Website. In addition, the easy scroll button can be used effortlessly to navigate Web pages, documents and other Windows files.

The Presario range comes preinstalled with Windows 98 second edition, Microsoft Works 4.5a and Microsoft Word 2000.
Compaq Service Connection
All Compaq Presario PCs include an automated update tool powered by Backweb technologies, providing a totally new style of web based service that will automatically download software updates or helpful hints whenever users log on to the Internet. This innovative tool provides allows complete user privacy, as users always have the choice to install update files or to delete them.
