Compaq in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) today boosted its storage area network (SAN) portfolio with the launch of Compaq StorageWorks RAID Array 4100 SAN Solution. The solution provides enterprises with simplified storage management capabilities at an affordable price with much reduced system downtime.
Commenting on the new solution, Olaf Swantee, Director of Enterprise Storage, Compaq EMEA said: "This product launch follows on from our successful EMEA first quarter results which revealed that our storage business grew by over 40% year on year. Moreover, we are selling over 1 000 SANs a quarter in a growing market. It works on a broad range of operating systems including Compaq ProLiant and other industry-standard servers. Its users can simultaneously deploy distributed business applications such as NT, Windows 2000, Novell NetWare and Linux Operating Systems.
The solution provides a bridge to the Open SAN of tomorrow and it forms a key part of Compaq`s Enterprise Network Storage Architecture strategy. It delivers the ultimate storage consolidation solution for heterogeneous departmental and workgroup environments with the aid of a StorageWorks Fibre Channel Arbitrated Loop Switch 8 or a fabric SAN switch.
Its scalable architecture allows re-deployment or re-configuration of an enterprise`s storage needs to match its changing computing needs.
