Leading integrator Comparex Africa`s Networks Division today announced that it has joined Citrix Systems, Inc`s channel programme, the Citrix Solutions Network (CSN), as a Gold Solutions Provider. The move will enhance Comparex Africa`s solutions offerings, while giving Citrix access to Comparex`s national network of clients.
Membership in the CSN will allow Comparex Africa Networks to offer integrated information access solutions to clients facing the challenges of business interruption due to either planned or unplanned downtime, deployment of new applications or upgraded business processes, or giving remote and mobile employees access to their organisation`s information and applications from anywhere in the world.
"Comparex Africa Networks` membership in the Citrix Solutions Network strengthens our ability to provide end-users with access infrastructure solutions that deliver measurable business benefits," said David Prosser, channel manager for Citrix Southern Africa. "Comparex Africa Networks` extensive experience and resources, together with Citrix solutions, will benefit customers by enabling anytime, anywhere, any-device, any-connection access to the on-demand enterprise."
Comparex Africa Networks has also embarked on a drive to train its staff in the Citrix MetaFrame Access Suite of products nationwide.
"Use of Citrix`s access infrastructure solutions is attractive for companies looking to reduce desktop capital and operational expenditure and contain management costs," says Angus Black, Comparex Africa Networks Product Manager.
"With ever-tightening controls on expenditure, access infrastructure solutions offer huge savings and significant return on investment."
Citrix technology enables organisations to provide rapid access to and updating of enterprise applications from a wide variety of client devices and platforms. Since these applications are installed, updated and maintained on central servers instead of on each personal computer, companies can expect significant reductions in IT administration and support costs.
In addition, because the applications execute 100% on the server, and only keystrokes, mouse clicks and screen updates are transmitted over the network between the server and the desktop, Citrix software enables high application performance, even over bandwidth-constrained connections, as well as greater data security.
Access infrastructure is a category of enterprise software that consolidates previously separate types of access technologies in the areas of device and network services, aggregation and personalisation, security and identity management, and presentation and conferencing.
The result is a single, integrated and consistent access infrastructure for the enterprise. The benefits of this infrastructure extend across the company from IT staffs stationed in corporate headquarters to remote and mobile workers roving far beyond the company firewall, as follows:
* Gives workers secure, easy and instant access to enterprise applications, information, processes and people, from anywhere, at anytime, using nearly any device, over any connection.
* Enables IT staffs to manage heterogeneity by centrally consolidating applications, simplifying their deployment, management, monitoring and measurement. This reduces the overall costs and complexity of the enterprise computing environment while giving the IT staff greater control over service quality, access privileges and resource usage. Overall benefits to the enterprise include increased flexibility and productivity for the entire organization, dynamic adaptability to technological change, and resilience in the event of business and technical disruptions.
